If you are easily offended, DO NOT READ THIS POST!
You have been warned…
Okay, I am OFFENDED by how easily people are OFFENDED these days!!!
We live in what is SUPPOSED to be a free country!
We have a constitutionally protected right to voice our opinions!
No matter how asinine, ridiculous or profound they may be.
No, I do NOT agree with everyone’s opinions. I simply respect their right to voice them.
I am SICK of this person or that demanding that someone else be punished or ridiculed for having an opinion that differs from their own. I am SICK of people getting offended and thinking that means the world must bend to their will to make it right! Just because you don’t appreciate someone else’s point of view does NOT mean that EVERYONE must stop and make YOU feel better!!!!
No, we do not live in a perfect world.
We never will!
No, there will never be anyone who speaks and has every single person agree with them!!
Even Jesus was labeled a heretic and thought to be blasphemous by some… JESUS!
So what gives people the right to say someone else can’t speak their mind?
Someone else’s opinions cannot affect your life unless you allow yourself to be affected!
If they are trying to pass an ordinance or a law that you oppose, rally and vote against it.
If they are simply stating their personal opinions, and they differ from your own… You have the right to speak your mind too.
But consider also; what makes your opinion any better than theirs? Why can you not conceive that your opinion could be seen as offensive to them? Why is yours the only opinion that matters????
I am SICK of this “Politically Correct” mindset that is meant to turn us all into SOCIAL MORONS!
I have a right to my opinion!
If you don’t appreciate someone’s point of view; DON’T READ IT, DON’T LISTEN TO IT, DON’T WATCH IT, but DON’T TRY TO CONTROL IT!!!!
Speak your mind in a way that makes you proud of how you handled yourself.
If you would be willing to stand in front to the Good Lord on Judgment Day and feel good about what you say and how you said it, then you should have the right to state your opinion.
If you don’t believe in God; would you feel good having this documented as your legacy to future generations, your motto, fed into your Karma, stated to your Grandmother or someone you respected? If you would, then you should have the right to state it.
This is the basis of freedom! The right to hold an opinion even if it differs from that of our government. This is why we are called a Democracy and not a Dictatorship or a Communist society!
Generations of people have laid their lives on the line to protect our right to live the way we see fit, practice a religion, or choose not to, and to speak our opinions.
No self-righteous, self-centered, egotist should be made to feel entitled to control what someone else believes or feels.
I believe in God. I believe in the Savior Jesus Christ and that he died for my sins.
I respect the fact that not everyone agrees with me.
It is not my place to judge.
It is my place to love them.
I do not agree with many popular opinions, but I respect the right of others to speak their mind. I would appreciate the right to feel free to speak my own.
There is nothing wrong with healthy debate.
There is nothing wrong with disagreeing or debating someone’s opinion.
There IS something fundamentally wrong with feeling entitled to CONTROL someone else’s opinion because their disagreeing with you is felt to be OFFENSIVE.
Please understand, I am not condoning violence or discrimination. These are NOT examples of holding an opinion. These are examples of hurting other people. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!
And if you are a person of a different race, religion, color, heritage or nationality and you hate or wish harm on someone who is not like you, you are a racist. It is not a word reserved for one race. There is such a thing as belonging to a minority and being a racist against people who are different from you. It is the SAME THING. The definition of the word is not exclusive to describing the feelings of only one race, but apparently it is only acceptable when used to describe a person who is white. Apparently everyone else on the planet is allowed to hate, be it rational or no, and it is their right. Why is it not feasible that racism could go either direction?
Just a thought.
So before you label me, judge me, berate me…. Know that I respect your right to your opinion.
Have a nice day!
